Q: Where have the intellectual discussions that VR used to have on a more regular basis gone? Is the lack of these discussions due to the limited imagination of the membership, or have the members that used to post frequently moved on and no longer use the forums?

A: I’ve been disgusted before; or there is nothing new under the rave.

Q: Is there a way that we can compromise with the postings that really end up about role play or is that just the nature of how the generalized public will view our forums?

A: If the site is about everything Vampire; then compromising Role Play, Roll Play, and Lifestyle to favour only those that have vampyric cravings and needs would be delusive contentment.

Q: Lastly, why do we think this occurs? …Do we take ourselves too seriously? Or is it because of the vast differences on what people consider to be vampyric that causes the conflict of interests in the forums (serious vs. role play)?

A: There are vast differences, hence the need for a catalogue of all that is vampire; even the site itself should be catalogued as a part of the culture. I think that anyone that takes something too seriously does not truly comprehend the society to which they are trying to belong: Elder-goths that are offended by Ikea ads; Treckies who insist they are trekkers; what have you. I think people confuse the purpose of this site; does anyone really believe that the site is here solely for cataloguing or expounding only one vampyric belief system?

Q: Is it our interest in the paranormal that will expose us to ridicule, or is it the unfounded “I’m powerful” statements that rightly determine that type of response?

A: People will always fear what they do not understand; then attack what they fear.

See above statement; as those who are “beyond” ridicule can laugh at themselves.

Q: Will use of proper English and care in how we express our thoughts better our discussions in that others will at least consider what we say, instead of ignoring our statements because they assume we do not know what we are talking about because we are not even able to put forth a sentence?

A: If grammar, punctuation, and concise expression were imperative to the site, it would be there, either through a checking device of some kind, or moderated posting until after a suitable apprenticeship (i.e. WRAITH).

Is there not some responsibility for Elder-vamps (by Vampirerave.com standards) to have patience, endure, love, respect, and teach those who are new?

I Digress

I personally think of VR in terms of its legacy. Will the legacy of VR be: that the majority of them were roll players, with poor spelling and teen angst, with poor HTML skills hidden by a brief familiarity with how to paste a test or pimpmyprofile.com; or will it be that it truly cross-sampled those who have an interest in vampires in the first decade of 21st century; or perhaps the only surviving bytes will be a fond memory (like that of studio 54) and the Database.
